Highlights on Floor Types

There have been so many questions about the types of floors and their uses. Here are the five main categories to explain:

  1. Laminate Flooring: (Also called Laminate, Laminate)

It is compressed cardboard with a wood-look print film paste over it, then they add a protective film and cut into wooden slats with a click system. There is the compact laminate under this category.

  1. Vinyl Floor

Same principle as a floating floor (point 1). On the other hand, the base is rubber. Several differ in the type of rubber composition. The old generation is recycled rubber. A new generation is in SPC (stone particle composite and mix with WPC (wood particle composite), which gives flexibility to the imperfect subfloor surface. The new generation no longer expands, which eliminates the ” declining ” slats.

  1. Engineered Flooring : (Engineered Flooring)

Thin layer of real wood on plywood (plywood) or HDF to stabilize the wood. The logic is that all the different layers of wood in the plywood are opposite to the top layer of wood, which retains the wood when it wants to work because of changes in temperature and humidity. This creates a very stable floor. This floor can be click, glue, or nail. It can also be installed on heated surfaces unlike the Formica HPL.

  1. 4. Bois Franc 0

It is the classic material that has proven itself for over 500 years. 19 Millimeters of real wood. (3/4 inch)

  1. Ceramics / Porcelain / Marble

Ceramics and porcelain follow the same manufacturing process, a mixture of clay with other components, pressed and hot fired. Porcelain is a more durable mixture and to replace ceramic in the present period. 95% of the materials today are porcelain. However, people still refer to it like ceramic. Marble is a natural stone that exists in a specific region. Example ” Carrara Marble ” is a region in Italy. Its manufacture is to excavate it and cut it to the right dimensions.
