One-of-A-Kind Cultured Stone Dealer Launches Masana Stone

The closure of Suquet Interiors has prompted the creation of Masana Stone Ltd. Originally incorporated in 1985, Suquet had a rich history being an exclusive dealer of one-of-a-kind pieces, antiques, furniture and cultured stonework, including fireplace surrounds and arches. The original Suquet closed its doors in 2009 after owner and architect, Ramon Masana, suddenly passed away.

Suquet Interiors’ closure did not discourage Ramon Masana Jr from continuing his family legacy in the cultured stone business. Masana Jr, President of Masana Stone stated, “I want to continue preserving the unique brand of cultured stonework my dad curated by salvaging the remains of the façade of a 200-year-old building in Mexico City’s busiest avenue after the 1985 earthquake. His curation of old world stone architectural elements has transformed various local Vancouver shops, restaurants and hotels with enriching culture and timeless design.” Notable pieces around Vancouver include the Boboli Arch on South Granville, the Circular Fireplace at Yaletown Brewery and the Hojas Fireplace at Vancouver Urban Winery. “I’m here to bring back cultured stone design and continue building the brand my father created with Masana Stone.”

Masana Stone is an online based showroom featuring their famous line of cultured stonework. “We have no physical showroom, though clients are welcome to view all our publicly showcased pieces around Vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton” says Masana Jr. You can locate their pieces on Masana Stone’s website under “Find our pieces.” Masana Stone specializes in custom cast stone design. “We have excellent designers who can curate your dream, custom fireplace surround of your preferred style, whether it’s traditional or contemporary. You dream it. We create it.”
